Creator connections: Discord and Instagram
Connect or reconnect Discord for campaign communities, understand server access, and connect Instagram for Meta partnership ads.
Manage social connections in Settings on creators.cruva.com, or Profile in the mobile app. TikTok ownership, Discord membership, Instagram identity, and payment setup serve different purposes; connecting one does not complete all the others.
Link Discord
Open the Discord connection, choose Connect, and authorize the intended Discord account. After returning to Cruva, check the connected username and avatar. Refresh the account information if needed.
Some campaigns require Discord. The join flow checks whether the creator can satisfy the brand's Discord requirement. With the necessary authorization, Cruva can add the creator to the brand's server automatically; they do not always need to manually join the server beforehand.
An older connection may show Reconnect because it lacks the permissions needed to add the creator to a server. Reconnecting grants the current permission set. If authorization was cancelled or failed, the account is not connected just because the creator opened Discord.
Server membership, roles, and private channels
A brand can configure Discord onboarding such as server access, roles, a creator channel, and welcome messages. These depend on the brand's setup and successful Discord delivery. Linking Discord alone does not guarantee that every brand creates a private channel.
For application-based campaigns, approved participation is the relevant onboarding milestone; submitting a pending application is not the same as receiving the approved member's roles and channels. If a creator is approved but cannot see the expected channel, check the linked Discord identity, reconnect prompt, actual server membership, and the brand's configured roles/channel permissions.
The creator can disconnect Discord from their profile after confirming the action. Disconnecting the account is a connection change, not a campaign-leave action or a guarantee that existing Discord server membership has been removed.
Cruva Messages and Discord are separate
Campaign messages can appear in Cruva's Messages area even when a creator also uses Discord. A Discord reminder requires the relevant connection and brand configuration; a Cruva message does not prove a Discord DM was delivered. See Creator messages and reminders.
Link Instagram
Open the Instagram connection in Settings/Profile and follow its authorization flow. The connection requires a professional Instagram account—Business or Creator—connected to a Facebook Page the creator manages. If the authorization returns a choice of managed accounts, select the intended Instagram account and finish the selection. An expired selection requires restarting the connection.
If no suitable account is found, check the professional account type, Facebook Page connection, and access to the correct Facebook profile/Page. Merely having a personal Instagram account is not sufficient for this connection flow.
Why Instagram matters for Meta programs
Instagram lets the brand use the creator's identity for supported partnership ads. A creator can join a Meta program without already connecting Instagram or completing Stripe; the program page prompts them to finish these steps. Instagram supports ad identity, while Stripe supports receiving money.
Joining a program, connecting Instagram, submitting a video, and having an ad launched are separate events. Connecting an account does not mean the brand has launched an ad or that a payout has occurred. See Meta programs from the creator's perspective.
