Commission Boost: extra earnings on every tracked post
Pay creators a % of GMV, an amount per unit sold, and/or an amount per post on everything they post. Covers rates, recurring periods, the two counting switches, and payouts.
A Commission Boost pays creators automatically on every tracked video, LIVE, or carousel. There are no tiers, rankings, or winners. Every joined creator earns on their own content at the rates you set.
Example: "Everything you post this month earns an extra 10% of GMV."
Set the rates
Choose Commission Boost when you create a campaign. In the rewards section, set one or more of these rates. They add together for each creator:
| Rate | What the creator earns |
|---|---|
| % of GMV | That percentage of the GMV their tracked posts generate (0–100). |
| Per unit sold | That amount for every unit sold through their tracked posts. |
| Per content posted | That amount for every tracked video, carousel, or LIVE they post. |
You need at least one rate. A new Commission Boost starts at 10% of GMV with the other two empty.
Example: with 10% of GMV, $1 per unit sold, and $5 per content posted, a creator who posts 4 videos that sell 30 units for $900 GMV earns $90 + $30 + $20 = $140.
Choose which content types count: videos, carousels, LIVEs, or any combination. Every type you count earns all three rates, so a LIVE earns the per-content rate too. The usual campaign product list still applies; see Campaign settings.
There is no campaign budget or per-creator cap on a Commission Boost. Earnings grow with the sales your creators drive, so set rates you're comfortable paying at any volume.
Fixed or recurring
- Fixed: one start and end date. Earnings become payable after the end date and any grace period.
- Recurring: weekly or monthly periods, with an optional maximum number of periods. Each period becomes payable when it closes, which is when the next period begins. Recurring periods run back to back, so there's no grace period.
Which sales count
By default, a period pays on every sale credited inside it, no matter when the content was posted. An older video that keeps selling earns on the sales it makes during the period.
Two independent switches in the schedule section narrow this:
- Only count earnings from new content posted during this period: only content posted inside the period earns. Older content stops counting.
- Only count earnings after the creator joins: a creator who joins mid-period only earns from their join date onward. With this off, a mid-period joiner is paid for the whole period.
With both switches on, the join date is also the cutoff for new content: a late joiner only earns on content they posted after joining.
Track and pay
The participants table shows each creator's GMV, Posts, join date, and Payout:
- In progress: the running amount for a period that hasn't closed yet. It updates as TikTok data comes in.
- Pay (with the amount): the period is closed and the creator earned more than 0. Click to pay from your balance.
- Paid: the payout has been sent.
The campaign summary shows your rates under Commission Rates, and creators see the headline rate on the campaign card. Pay through your community balance, as with other campaigns; see Creator payouts and adding funds.
Commission Boost vs. other types
- Race: pays a fixed rate per post or per views from a limited shared pool. Use a Race when you need a hard spending cap.
- Retainer: pays a set amount for a set number of posts. Use a Retainer for agreed deliverables.
- Commission Boost: pays on actual sales and posts, with no cap. Use it to add a performance bonus on top of TikTok Shop commission.
