Creator Contracts

Have creators e-sign your agreements: upload or write a contract, place signature boxes, share the link or send it in a message, and use it as the terms of a campaign, your Brand Hub, or a Meta program.

Creator Contracts let creators sign your agreements electronically, without a separate e-signature tool. You upload a PDF (or write the terms in Cruva), place the boxes creators fill in, and publish it. Creators sign from a branded link, from a card in their messages with you, or as part of joining a campaign, your Brand Hub, or a Meta program. Each signature produces a locked, signed PDF that you and the creator both keep.

Open Creator Community → Contracts. The page lists every contract with its type, signature count, and signing link, plus totals for Active contracts, Creators signed, and Drafts. Search by contract or campaign name, or filter to Standalone contracts or ones Used as terms.

Create a contract

Click Create new contract and choose one of two ways to start:

  • Upload a PDF: a PDF up to 30 MB and 100 pages. Password-protected PDFs can't be used, so export an unlocked copy first. You place the boxes yourself in the next step.
  • Write it: type or paste the terms as plain text. Cruva turns it into a PDF with a signature page, and the signature, name, and date boxes are already placed. While the contract is still a draft, Edit text rebuilds the PDF from new text. This puts the standard boxes back and removes any you added yourself.

Give the contract a name. Creators see it, and it's printed on their signed copy.

Signature boxes

On the Signature boxes tab, drag boxes onto the pages, or click a box type to add it to the last page you clicked. Move and resize boxes on the page, and mark each one as required or optional.

BoxWhat the creator does
SignatureDraws their signature, or types their name and Cruva renders it as a signature.
InitialsDraws or types their initials.
Full nameTypes their name.
Date signedNothing. It's filled in automatically with the date they sign.

You need at least one required Signature box to publish.

Details and branding

The Details tab controls how the signing page looks. A live phone preview shows exactly what creators see when they open the link.

  • Description: up to 200 characters, shown above the document.
  • Button name: the main button. The default is Read and sign.
  • Support email: filled in from your Brand Hub and shown at the bottom of the signing page.
  • Link button: an optional second button: Join Discord, Apply for a sample, Join a campaign, or a Custom link. Show it After signing only or Before and after signing.
  • Banner and Banner brightness: an optional image behind the title.
  • Branding: colors and fonts. Anything you leave untouched follows your Brand Hub.

The Termination section is on this tab too. See Termination below.

Publish

Click Publish. The contract gets a public signing link (Copy link on the contract page). Until you publish, it's a draft: creators can't sign it, and you can delete it.

Locking: what can and can't change after someone signs

When the first creator signs, the parts that make up the agreement lock permanently: the file, the title, the boxes, and the termination terms. This guarantees everyone who signed the contract signed the same document. To change any of these, Duplicate the contract, edit the copy, and publish it as a new contract.

The presentation (description, buttons, banner, branding, support email) stays editable after signing. Creators see your changes the next time they open the link.

Get it signed

There are three ways to put a contract in front of creators. Every signature is recorded against the same contract, whichever route the creator took.

Share the link. Copy the signing link from the contract page and post it anywhere: your Discord, an email, a bio link. Creators need to sign in to Cruva Creators to sign, so each signature is tied to their account.

Send it in a message. On the contract page, click Send to creators, pick up to 50 creators from your community, and optionally add a note. Each creator gets the contract as a card in their direct messages with you. You can also send one from a conversation in Creator Messages with Send contract. The card shows Waiting for signature until the creator signs, then the date they signed. If a creator can't be reached (for example, they've left your community), Cruva tells you how many weren't sent.

Make it the terms of something. Creators then sign it as part of joining:

WhereHow to set it
A campaignIn the campaign's terms step, switch the attachment from PDF to Contract to sign and choose the contract. The terms text still shows alongside it. See Campaign settings.
Your Brand HubIn the Brand Hub's Terms of Service card (the shop-wide Seller community terms), choose Contract to sign. Creators sign it once, the first time they join any of your campaigns or programs.
A Meta programWhen you publish an agreement version, choose Contract to sign. See Meta Ads programs.

Terms can be text plus either a PDF or a contract, never both. Only published contracts can be picked. A creator who has already signed the contract, for example from its link, isn't asked to sign it again when they join.

What the creator sees

  1. They open the link (or the card in their messages, or the Join popup) and land on your branded page, with the contract title, your description, and the document.
  2. They tap Read and sign, go through the pages, and fill each box. Their signature and initials are saved to their account, so after the first time a single tap fills them.
  3. They type their full legal name, tick the box agreeing to sign electronically, and tap Sign and agree.
  4. Cruva stamps their entries into the PDF, adds a Signature page to the end, and emails them a copy. It's also kept under My contracts in the creator app.

Each creator signs a given contract once. Opening the link again shows their signed copy instead of a new signing flow. For the creator-side steps in more detail, see Signing contracts.

Find signed copies

Open a contract and go to the Signers tab. Every signature is listed with the creator, the date, and where it was signed from (Contract link, Campaign, Brand hub, or Meta program). Click a signer to open their signed copy:

  • The signed pages and the Signature page, with Download PDF.
  • The signing record: the typed name, the creator account, when they agreed to sign electronically and when they signed, the IP address and device, and SHA-256 fingerprints of the original and the signed document.
  • A check that the stored copy still matches the fingerprint recorded at signing.
  • All contracts for @creator: every contract that creator has signed with you.

Signed contracts also appear where you work with creators:

  • Campaign page: a card names the contract creators sign to join, and each creator's panel shows whether they've signed it.
  • Creator Community → Creators: a creator's dialog has a Contracts tab.
  • My Affiliates: a Contracts column lists what each creator has signed.

The Signature page records what was offered (your brand, the document and its fingerprint, the date the terms were published) and what was accepted (the creator's name, handle, email, time, IP, and device), along with their signature. Your countersignature isn't needed: publishing the contract is your offer, and the creator's signature accepts it.

Termination

Each contract states how a signed copy can end. Set this under Termination on the Details tab before anyone signs. Like the file and boxes, it locks at the first signature.

OptionWhat it means
Can't be terminated (default)Once signed, it stays in force. Voiding the contract only stops new signatures.
Either party can end it with noticeYou or the creator gives notice, and the agreement ends after the notice period (1 to 365 days).
Ends with the campaignEnds when the campaign ends or the creator leaves it.

The clause is shown to creators on the signing page and printed on their copy, so the terms you enforce are the ones they agreed to.

Giving notice. On a signer row or in the signed copy, click Give notice. You can add an optional reason of up to 500 characters, and Cruva shows the end date (today plus the notice period) before you confirm. The creator is told in their messages with you. The creator can give notice the same way from their copy, and you'll see it in your messages. Either side can Withdraw notice until the end date. A signature shows In force, Ends {date}, or Terminated, with who gave notice.

Ends with the campaign only applies to copies signed through that campaign's own Join flow. A copy of the same contract signed from its link, a message, or the Brand Hub never ends on its own. The agreement ends when the campaign is completed, archived, or past its fixed end date, or when the creator leaves the campaign or is removed or rejected from it. Once ended, it stays ended, even if the creator rejoins or the campaign is restored.

What termination does and doesn't do. Termination is recorded on the signed copy and shown as a warning. It doesn't remove the creator from a campaign, cancel a membership, or change any payout. Make those changes yourself if you need to. A terminated contract can't be signed again by the same creator. To work together again, duplicate the contract and have them sign the new one.

Void or delete a contract

  • Delete draft: drafts have no signatures, so deleting one loses nothing but the draft.
  • Void contract (published contracts): the link stops taking signatures, and the contract can no longer be picked as terms. Every signed copy is kept, and creators who signed can still open theirs. Voiding can't be undone. Duplicate it to start a new version.

You can't void a contract that is still the terms of a campaign, your Brand Hub, or a Meta program. Switch those to other terms first. The contract page lists where it's used (Creators sign this to join: …).

Team access

Contracts come with the Campaigns section. A teammate or external collaborator who can open Campaigns can also create, send, and manage contracts. See Team and sub-user management.

Troubleshooting

ProblemWhat to check
Publish failsAdd at least one required Signature box, and save your changes first.
You can't edit the title or boxesSomeone has signed, so the contract is locked. Duplicate it.
A creator says the link doesn't workThe contract may be voided or still a draft. A voided link tells the creator to ask you for the current one.
A creator was asked to sign againThey're signing a different contract, for example a duplicate you published later. Each contract is signed separately.
Void is refusedThe contract is still the terms of a campaign, the Brand Hub, or a program. Change those terms, then void it.
A campaign contract didn't end when the creator leftIt was signed from the link, a message, or the Brand Hub, not through the campaign's Join flow, so it never ends on its own. Ends with the campaign contracts don't take notice either. If you need to be able to end these copies, duplicate the contract with notice terms and have creators sign the new one.
The upload is rejectedUse a PDF (not Word), up to 30 MB and 100 pages, without a password.
