Broadcast to your creator community
Email everyone in your creator community at once, or post to your Discord or Lark, from the Broadcast button. Who receives it, how filters narrow it, and where to find past broadcasts.
For brands and agencies who want to reach every creator in a community at once: a launch, a new campaign, a deadline reminder.
The short version
Click Broadcast above your community's creator list. It has three tabs:
- Email sends one email to every creator in your community who has an email address, personalized with their name and handle. Creators without an email are skipped. You see how many people will get it before anything sends.
- Discord posts one message to a channel in your connected Discord server.
- Lark posts one message to your connected Lark group chat.
On the Email tab, the list's search and most of its filters narrow who receives it. History shows every email broadcast you've sent, with its recipients.
In the Agency workspace, Agency → Creators → Broadcast sends the same broadcast for one brand you pick.
Where to find Broadcast
Broadcast sits above the community creator list, which you can open two ways:
- Creator Community → Brand Hub → Creators (the Community Creators list). See Brand Hub.
- Affiliate CRM → My Affiliates → Community.
Both send from the shop you have selected. In the Agency workspace, see Broadcast from the Agency workspace below.
Send an email broadcast
-
Click Broadcast. The Email tab is open.
-
Fill in the subject line and the Reply-to email. Both are required. Creators who reply to the email reach that address.
-
Write the message. The editor supports headings, bold, lists and links, and you can add images.
-
Personalize it with the chips above the editor. Each one inserts a placeholder that's filled in for every creator:
- Shop Name →
[shop_name] - Handle →
[affiliate_handle] - First Name →
[first_name] - Last Name →
[last_name]
A creator with no first or last name on file gets a blank there, so write the sentence so it still reads well without it.
- Shop Name →
-
To link a campaign, click Campaign Link, pick a type and an active campaign, and its creator link is inserted where your cursor is.
-
Click Next. Cruva counts the creators who'll receive it and shows the message for a last check.
-
Click Send to (with the count) to send, or Back to keep editing.
The broadcast is queued and sends in the background, so a large community can take a little while to finish. You can close the dialog straight away.
Who receives an email broadcast
Everyone in your creator community who has an email address. Creators who joined without one are skipped, and aren't included in the count you see before sending.
If you've narrowed the creator list, the broadcast is narrowed the same way and the dialog says Filters active. Only matching creators will receive this. These apply:
- The search box (creator handle).
- Shop GMV Range, Community GMV Range and Community Posts Range.
- Campaign, to email only the creators in one campaign.
- Has Instagram, Has Discord and Has Lark.
The list's date range, Joined Community, Discord Server and Lark Group don't narrow a broadcast. If one of those is the only thing narrowing your list, the broadcast still goes to everyone matching the rest. Check the count on the Next step before you send.
See past email broadcasts
On the Email tab, click History. Each broadcast shows its subject, how many creators it was sent to, and when. Click one to see the message and the full recipient list with each creator's handle and email. Click New Broadcast to go back to writing.
History lists email broadcasts only. Discord and Lark messages are in those apps.
Post to Discord or Lark
The Discord and Lark tabs post one message to a shared channel, not to each creator.
- Discord: pick a channel in your connected server and write the message. Discord markdown works. Up to 2,000 characters posts as a normal message; longer messages, up to 4,096 characters, post as an embed. If Discord isn't connected yet, the tab tells you so. See Discord integration for connecting it and for scheduled posts.
- Lark: write the message and click Send. It goes to the Lark group chat you connected in Connections → Integrations.
Both send as soon as you click Send. There's no recipient count, because the message goes to the channel.
Broadcast from the Agency workspace
In the Agency workspace, Agency → Creators has a Broadcast button at the right end of the header. It sends exactly what a brand's own Broadcast sends, for one brand at a time.
- Click Broadcast and choose a brand under Brand. Nothing can be written or sent until you pick one. If you can broadcast for only one brand, it's picked for you.
- Write the email, or use the Discord or Lark tab, as above. The Discord channels, the Lark connection, the campaigns under Campaign Link and History are all that brand's.
- Click Next to see how many creators will get it, then send.
An agency broadcast goes to the brand's whole community (everyone with an email address), not only the creators the Agency Creators page is showing. Its filters and shop picker don't carry over. To email just part of a brand's community, open that brand in the shop switcher and use Broadcast on its own creator list.
Switching to another brand clears the channel you picked, the recipient count and the history, so nothing from the last brand carries over. What you've typed stays.
The Brand list only shows brands you're allowed to broadcast for: you need access to that brand's Creator Community creators. For a team member with customized feature access, that means Creator Community or its Campaigns page is ticked (Campaigns unlocks the creator list too; see team members and sub-users). Access to the Agency Dashboard alone isn't enough. For a shop another account shared with you, it's whatever access that account gave you. If you can't broadcast for any brand, Broadcast is grayed out and says why when you hover it. See the Agency workspace for the rest of the Agency pages.
Common questions
Why will fewer creators get it than are in my community? Creators without an email address are skipped. Your filters may also be narrowing it; clear them to reach everyone.
Can I email just a few creators? Narrow the creator list first. Search for a handle, or filter by Campaign or the ranges above, then click Broadcast. The count on the Next step shows exactly how many will get it.
Where do replies go? To the Reply-to email you entered for that broadcast.
Can I schedule a broadcast? Not an email. Broadcasts send when you click send. For Discord, use Scheduled Posts in Discord integration.
A creator is in two of my brands' communities. Do they get both broadcasts? Yes. Each brand's broadcast is sent on its own, so a creator in both communities gets one from each brand you send from.
Why can't I pick a brand in Agency → Creators? You don't have access to that brand's Creator Community creators. Ask an admin on your account, or the owner of a shared shop, to add it. A brand whose community access Cruva has restricted isn't listed either.
Can I see Discord or Lark broadcasts in History? No. History lists email broadcasts only.
