Connect your Shopify store
Install the Cruva app from the Shopify App Store and link your store to a Cruva shop: log in and pick a shop, use a connect code, or sign up without leaving Shopify. Share one store across several shops.
For brands and agencies linking a Shopify store to Cruva.
The short version
Shopify connects through the Cruva app on the Shopify App Store. Install it, then link the store to one of your Cruva shops in one of three ways:
- log in and choose the shop;
- enter a connect code someone sent you;
- create a new Cruva account without leaving Shopify.
Nothing is installed on your storefront and your checkout doesn't change.
Once it's connected, the store powers:
- Shopify referral campaigns: creator links, discount codes and payouts.
- Free samples: creators request a product and Shopify ships it.
- Halo Effect: your TikTok activity against your Shopify sales.
Where to start
From Cruva, either:
- open Integrations and click Install from App Store on the Shopify card, or
- open Creator Community → Shopify and click Connect Shopify. Connection options takes you to Integrations.
From Shopify, install the Cruva app from the Shopify App Store. If it's already installed, open Apps → Cruva in your Shopify admin.
The app then asks you to link the store to Cruva. Pick one of the options below.
Option 1: Log in and choose a shop
Use this if you already have a Cruva account and you manage the store yourself.
- In the Cruva app in Shopify, click Log in to choose a shop.
- Log in to Cruva.
- Under Select the Cruva shop to link, choose the shop and click Connect store.
The list shows your most recent shops. If the one you want isn't there, use a connect code instead.
If your account doesn't have a Cruva plan yet, you can choose one here. It's billed on your Shopify invoice. See Billing and payments.
Option 2: Send a connect code
Use this when someone else owns the Shopify store, for example a client of your agency.
- In Cruva, open Integrations and click Generate connect code on the Shopify card.
- Send the code to the store owner.
- They install the Cruva app, enter the code and click Connect store. They don't need a Cruva login.
A code is 8 characters, works once and expires after 7 days. Generating a new code replaces the old one.
Option 3: New to Cruva
You can create your Cruva account inside your Shopify admin.
- Install the Cruva app and click New to Cruva? Create an account.
- Enter your name, email and a password. The password needs 8–24 characters, with an uppercase letter, a number and a symbol.
- Enter the 6-digit code we email you. It expires after 15 minutes. Resend code sends a new one.
- Choose your plan and approve it in Shopify. It's billed on your Shopify invoice.
- Name your Cruva shop, pick your TikTok Shop region, and click Create shop and connect store.
The app then opens on your dashboard. Log in at cruva.com with the same email and password to use the rest of Cruva.
Use one store for several shops
If you sell through one Shopify store in several markets, for example a US shop and a UK shop in Cruva, connect the store once and share it with your other shops. Each shop keeps its own product links and Halo Effect data.
There are three ways to share a store:
- On Integrations, in the shop that doesn't have Shopify yet, click Use a store you already connected. Choose the store and click Use this store.
- In the shop that already has the store, open Manage Connection and click Share with another shop.
- If you link the store from the Cruva app in Shopify and it's already connected to another of your shops, Cruva offers to share it. Click Use this store for both shops.
A shop that uses a shared store shows Shared from and the name of the shop that connected it.
Extra permissions
The standard connection is enough for links, sales tracking, payouts and Halo Effect. Two features ask for one more Shopify permission the first time you turn them on:
- Per-creator discount codes need
write_discounts. - Free sample orders need
write_draft_orders.
When one is missing, the campaign form shows Shopify permission needed. Click Grant in Shopify, approve it in your Shopify admin, then click Re-check. It takes a few seconds.
If you see This store needs to reconnect first, your store installed Cruva before that feature existed. Open the Cruva app from your Shopify admin and the permission is offered.
What you pay
- Your Cruva plan. If you signed up or chose a plan from the Cruva app in Shopify, your plan is billed on your Shopify invoice, not your card. See Billing and payments.
- The 1.5% fee on referral sales. Shopify requires app charges to go through Shopify Billing, so someone at the store approves Cruva's fee subscription once. See Shopify referral campaigns.
To see every fee Cruva has charged the store, click Invoices on the Shopify card. It shows on the shop that connected the store.
Disconnect or stop sharing
- In the shop that connected the store, click Disconnect on the Shopify card. If other shops use the store, Cruva lists them first. Disconnect from all shops removes Shopify from every one of them, along with their product links and Halo Effect data.
- In a shop that uses a shared store, click Stop using this store. This removes that shop's product links and Halo Effect data. The store stays connected to the other shops.
Your Shopify campaigns stay readable after you disconnect, so you can still review creators and payment history. The rest of the Shopify section needs a connected store.
If your Cruva plan is billed through Shopify, uninstalling the Cruva app from Shopify also ends the plan.
Common questions
Does connecting change my checkout or storefront? No. Cruva reads orders and visits from Shopify. Nothing is added to your storefront or checkout.
Can one Shopify store connect to two of my Cruva shops? Yes. Connect it to one shop and share it with the others. See Use one store for several shops.
Can one Cruva shop use two Shopify stores? No. Each Cruva shop uses one Shopify store.
It says "This Shopify store is already connected to a Cruva shop." The store is linked to a shop already. If that shop is yours, share the store instead of connecting it again. If it isn't, disconnect it from that shop first.
My shop isn't in the list when I log in. The list shows your most recent shops. Generate a connect code in the shop you want and enter it in the Cruva app instead.
"This link has expired or is incomplete." If you already installed Cruva, open it from your Shopify admin (Apps → Cruva) to finish linking. If not, install it from the App Store first.
"Your Shopify session expired." Reopen the Cruva app from your Shopify admin and try again.
"An account with this email already exists." You already have a Cruva account. Click Link an existing account and log in.
Who can connect a store with a connect code? Anyone the store owner gives the code to. A code works only once, so generate a new one if it was already used or has expired.
