Social Intelligence: Overview
Research the whole TikTok Shop market — competitor brands, hot products, trending videos, and top creators — then pull creators into your own program.
For operators who want to see what's happening on TikTok Shop beyond their own shop.
What Social Intelligence is
Social Intelligence is research on the wider TikTok Shop market — brands, products, videos, and creators, whether or not they're connected to your shop. It is not your own program data. (Your program lives under Affiliate CRM → My Affiliates and your Analytics.)
Find it in the sidebar under Social Intelligence:
- Brands — What it shows: Search/browse competing brands, their creators, top products, and trend charts. This is also where "Competitor Insights" lives. · Route: /dashboard/social-intelligence/brands
- Products — What it shows: Reverse-engineer a hot SKU — who sells it, what content works, its trajectory. · Route: /dashboard/social-intelligence/products
- Videos — What it shows: A feed of TikTok Shop videos performing well right now, by region and category. · Route: /dashboard/social-intelligence/videos
- Creators (Top Affiliates) — What it shows: A global ranked list of top-performing creators in the selected region. · Route: /dashboard/social-intelligence/affiliates
Switching the research region
The region you're researching is tied to the shop selected at the top of the dashboard. Switch the shop selector to a shop in another market and Social Intelligence repoints to that market's data automatically (for example, select a UK shop to research UK brands).
Coverage is strongest in US, UK, and DE, with more regions added over time.
Saving competitors' creators (and what the GMV filter means)
Inside a brand or product, the Save List action (the button is labeled Save List; the dialog is Save Creators) imports the creators associated with it into a saved list under Outreach → Lists (/dashboard/lists). It copies the creators' contact info (handles or emails — your choice), not the brand's data, products, or account. (This is informally called "stealing.")
When you filter by GMV before stealing, that GMV is the creator's overall platform-wide GMV, not their GMV for that specific brand.
GMV timeframe on Discover Brands / Products
The GMV number shown on a Discover Brands or Discover Products profile is all-time GMV, not a 30-day or monthly figure. Use the time-series charts on the profile to judge whether a brand or product is hot right now versus months ago — a single all-time number won't tell you that.
Plan and trial gating
- Viewing Social Intelligence data requires the Growth plan (or higher).
- Exporting Social Intelligence video/trending data is available on Growth (or higher). Saving creators into a list (or downloading them as a creator CSV) requires the Scale plan.
- Basic and trial accounts see an upgrade prompt instead of the data.
Upgrade under your account menu (top right) → Billing & Plans.
A surface shows no data — is it broken?
Usually not. Before assuming a bug, check the three things that actually gate results:
1. Region. Is the selected shop in a covered region (US/UK/DE strongest)?
2. Plan. On Basic or a trial you'll see upgrade prompts, not data.
3. Filters / timeframe. Over-narrow category, GMV, or lookback filters can legitimately return nothing. Loosen them and try again.
Category and GMV filtering work correctly — an earlier issue where a category or GMV filter could break the ordering or return nothing has been fixed.
Common questions
Why does Top Affiliates (Creators) look nothing like my affiliates? Because it isn't your roster — it's the global top-creator leaderboard for the region. Your creators are under Affiliate CRM → My Affiliates.
Can I message creators directly from Social Intelligence? No. Use Save List to save them to a list, then run a DM automation or email campaign from /dashboard/automations or /dashboard/emails.
The numbers here disagree with My Affiliates. Expected — Social Intelligence measures the whole market in that region; My Affiliates only measures creators connected to your shop.
