Creator Messages, community channels, reminders, and notifications
Where creators receive brand messages and campaign updates, how channels differ from DMs, and how SMS, Discord, and mobile push settings work.
Creators use Messages in the creator app for brand conversations and community channels. Cruva Messages, Discord messages, SMS, and mobile push notifications are separate delivery surfaces; receiving an update in one place does not guarantee it was delivered in all of them.
Channels and direct messages
The Messages area separates Channels and DMs. Creators can search conversations, open a conversation, read its history, and use the available message controls. Channels can be configured for conversation or as read-only announcement channels. If a creator can read a channel but cannot post, check the channel's permissions rather than assuming their whole account is broken.
Available public channels can be joined or followed. Leaving a public channel does not necessarily make it unreadable or undiscoverable. Leaving a message channel is also not the same action as withdrawing from a campaign.
Messages can include brand updates and campaign events, such as welcome, milestone, winner, payout, and negotiation information, depending on what the brand has configured. Do not promise every event produces a message: delivery depends on the enabled settings and event.
Retainer offers in chat
A negotiation message can show an offer amount, deliverables, a note, and a link to the campaign. Open that campaign to review the current negotiation state and respond. An older chat message may describe an earlier offer; it should not override the latest accepted deal on the campaign page.
Campaign reminders
The brand can configure reminders around campaign or individual-period deadlines. Depending on setup and eligibility, these can reach creators through Cruva Messages, Discord, or SMS. Dynamic retainers can have individual deadlines, so two creators may receive reminders at different times.
A reminder is a prompt to act, not an extension of the posting deadline or an exemption from product/content eligibility. Missing a reminder does not change the campaign's dates. Check the campaign page for the relevant requirements and period.
SMS and Discord
SMS requires an appropriate phone number and messaging consent. Creators manage their SMS preference separately from merely supplying a phone number for a campaign requirement. Turning off SMS does not remove campaign participation or prevent the creator from opening the campaign page.
Discord delivery depends on the linked Discord account and the brand's Discord configuration. If the account requires renewed permissions, use Reconnect in Settings/Profile. See Discord account and server access.
Mobile push notifications
Creators can install the app using the options at creators.cruva.com/install. In the mobile app, Profile → Notifications controls push setup for messages, campaign updates, and payouts. Device permissions also matter: if notifications are blocked, enable them in the phone's settings for Cruva.
Push notifications are a mobile-app feature; the website's account preferences should not be described as providing the same device-push controls. The same Cruva login should be used on mobile to receive updates for existing participation.
Blocking and support
Available message controls include blocking a person, which hides their messages and stops their notifications; blocked accounts can be managed in Settings. Blocking a person does not pay or cancel a campaign reward.
When investigating a missing message, identify its expected destination, the signed-in account, channel membership/permissions, connected Discord account, SMS consent, or device notification permission as relevant. For a reward question, inspect the campaign result itself rather than relying solely on whether a congratulatory message arrived.
